KING SIZED DUNCE. Everyday, millions upon millions of people walk around in ignorance simply because they refuse to accept facts. Whether they’re trying to convince you that Earth is flat or that Covid-19 is a hoax, these people reject science and propagate misinformation.

Everyday, millions upon millions of people walk around in ignorance simply because they refuse to accept facts. Whether they’re trying to convince you that Earth is flat or that Covid-19 is a hoax, these people reject science and propagate misinformation.

People who openly reject facts need to get their life together and take responsibility for their words and actions.

In today’s world, it’s so easy to spread misinformation and fake news. Social media groups and internet forums contribute largely to this. Just because a person sees something online, doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s true. To combat the spread of false information, social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook have implemented fact checking algorithms to analyze posts and shoot down rumors and lies.

People who spread false information don’t always know that they’re spreading it, and most of the time they don’t take into consideration that their messages could cause serious damage to people’s reputations or could result in someone getting hurt. An example of this is the deaths of more than 20 innocent Indian citizens. Rumors that people were kidnappers spread through Whatsapp, and the accused persons were dealt with how the community saw fit.

The only thing worse than someone who lets a group of people think for them is someone who denies words spoken by a professional. Some people think that scientists, doctors, historians, and other experts don’t know what they’re talking about. After all, what would they know? Anti-vaxxers are a prime example of this. Despite countless medical studies, they disregard facts and put their children and other children at risk of catching a preventable disease.

Essentially, people who reject facts need to come to their senses and stop putting people at risk with their words. It’s not just their responsibility though. If they won’t check themselves, we have to. If you see someone spreading false information, call them out. Help prevent the spread of misinformation and fake news.
