About

Our mission statement: As The Voice of the Wildkats, we VOW to provide the Wildkat community all the knowledge, advice and entertainment needed, one memory at a time.

The Voice of the Wildkats is published as part of the Advanced Journalism Newspaper class at Willis High School with some submissions from the Journalism I class. All opinions expressed in these pages are that of the individual students and not the opinion of the administration of WHS or WISD. Unsigned editorials are opinions of the staff as a whole.

The Voice of the Wildkats online received the Online Newspaper Distinguished Merit honors from ILPC in 2022 and was nominated for a star in 2021. The website was also named a Distinguished Site by SNO for 2021-2022 and 2020-2021. Staff members compete in contests sponsored by ILPC and TAJE. Four members were also named All-State Journalists by ILPC.

Signed letters to the editor may be mailed to VOW, c/o Emily Meachen, Willis High School, 10005 Hwy 75, Willis, Texas 77378 or dropped off in person to Ms. Meachen in room A201.
