Cinderella (2021) PG

A new movie has been released that has received a lot of backlash from fans of the genre. The movie “Cinderella”  starring Camilla Cabello is yet another of a long series of movies based on the aged fairytale Cinderella. In the past Cinderella movies have been pretty strong and a lot of people enjoyed them, but this new one is an absolute mess.

The movie has a lot of good parts, one of which being the big names from Broadway and movies of the past. They managed to get great actors all in one movie which was most likely hard to do because of their busy schedules. Some big names include Idina Menzel as the evil stepmother and James Corden as one of the mice. It was great how they added a lot of strong women that are interested more in business and themselves rather than the men that they are supposed to love. However, even with all the big names and the great message the movie sends out to women around the world, it was just horrible. The music was subpar at best, and the acting was horrible. For example, when Cinderella was talking to the prince you can’t even tell they are supposed to be in love. If someone had seen this movie who had never heard of Cinderella, they would have no clue what the relationships between these people were.There had to have been something wrong with the writers and the director, the blame is not on the actors at all for the most part. But how hard can it be to write a good movie based on a story every single person on this planet has heard or read or seen?

It is obvious they were going for something that would maybe change the way people see the movie today, but they were so far off from making something good out of it. It is definitely possible to make something that little girls around the world can look up to in the future without it being this chaotic display.This movie should not change anything about how the industry works, and maybe it was just a fluke.

The movie is available now on Amazon. Paying good money to see this would be a gigantic mistake. If you are really, really bored, you may want to watch some of the musical numbers. The “Whatta Man” by Salt-N-Pepa and “Seven Nation Army ” by The White Stripes is a mix up made in heaven, but overall, I would just fast forward most of this mess of a movie.
