“Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir” debuted in 2015 on Disney Junior, but teenagers started taking a liking to it, so the show then started playing on the original Disney Channel. It is directed and written by French Thomas Astruc.
The show is about two teenagers who receive a miraculous. A miraculous is an object that is believed to hold some sort of power. Ladybug, or marinette, is one of the lead characters who is living a double life, and has to keep her ladybug identity a secret. She has great parents who own a bake show in Paris, France, they are very supportive, but aren’t allowed to know about her second life. Adrian, or cat noir, is also a miraculous holder who lives a double life, but also has a very absent father. By this meaning, his father is there physically but isn’t supporting. His father is also incredibly strict, and has just recently allowed Adrian to socialize with his friends.
These two teenagers will never have the opportunity to live a normal teenage life. This is why so many teens can relate to this show. You don’t have to be miraculous to live a strange teenage life, but there are many challenges that the characters in the show face, that we teengers also face. They go through problems with trust, secrets, friendships, and respect. But Marinette and Adrian have to be able to stay calm and assess the situation. Just like them, students have to be able to trust teachers, friends, and their family, while also having responsibilities with work and school. This show can also allow young kids to understand that life is not always going to be easy, and that you will reach some walls in the maze and to keep your friends around to support you.
This show is an amazing show, and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. It is a cartoon with appropriate language and actions that will be sure to make you laugh. If you have younger siblings, try to watch “Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir” with them. You will be sure to enjoy it.
