Volleyball teams seeing double trophies after Huntsville tourney
JV and Freshman teams both take home first place
The final round, the final push, the last step for glory. Whatever you may call it, the Ladykats junior-varsity and freshman teams handle it with ease and bring hardware back to Willis.
The Willis freshman A and junior varsity volleyball teams played in a tournament at Huntsville the past weekend. Both teams went 5-0 to bring home two first place trophies.
“It felt great to be announced first and to beat the Huntsville Hornets,” freshman Amy Roberts said.
The first place trophies help the team to develop the first-place mindset that is required to keep pushing the limits for their high school career.
“The first place win helps the team develop the mindset for future games and tournaments,” sophomore Rylee Gage said.
It is great in any extracurricular activity to be able to showcase long days and hard practices. Volleyball is no different, the tournament wins give the Ladykats a chance to showcase their hard work at practice.
“The coaches have taught us a lot, and it shows how much the hard work pays off,” sophomore Rylee Gage said.
