THE WAY OF THE WATER. The much awaited sequel, Avatar: The Way of the Water hit theaters in December and was rumored to take 13 years to make.

“Wherever we go this family is our fortress”

Everyone knows one of the most famous movies of all time, Avatar. Everyone also remembers in 2009 the unreal out of this world feeling they got when leaving the theaters after watching the movie for the first time. When Avatar first came out there was nothing like it. It was the most technologically advanced movie with a storyline that simply just didn’t exist. On December 16, 2022, 13 years after the original, Avatar: The Way of Water was released. The movie immediately lived up to its name, soaring past Top Gun with 1.7 billion dollars globally, becoming the highest-grossing film of 2022.

Avatar: The Way of Water expands the vibrant world of Pandora as the original plot from the first movie continues. Jake Sully, who is played by Sam Worthington, takes his family to a part of Pandora that fans have not seen before. Although the plot of the new movie is very similar to the first one, the graphics and visuals are far more advanced and breathtaking, and the new characters, like Jake and Neytiri’s children, bring a more emotional impact to the completion of the story. Along with the magical world setup James Cameron, the director of the Avatar movies, created, the movie also addresses elements like social equality, civilization and takes a strong anti- military stand.

There are even more Avatar movies in the making. James Cameron has spent the last 13 years perfecting this storyline and has planned on giving us at least four total movies. Overall Avatar 2 is an amazing movie and is definitely worth watching at least 100 times, just be careful when engulfing in the fantasies of Pandora, the feeling is unmatchable and fans have complained that after watching the movie, they were sad to return to their natureless city life. If you want to feel like you’re really in Pandora, you can always visit Disney World.
