I believe in the future of agriculture, with a faith born not of words but of deed- achievements won by the present and past generations of agriculturists.
The first words of the FFA creed guide the club in everything they do. The stockshows, the leadership events, the local show, the career development events. FFA is about ag, but it is about so much more.
“The best part about being in FFA is definitely the feeling that FFA feels like a family,”sophomore Roddie Honea said.
In FFA the students are allowed to choose what animals they want in the beginning of the year, so they can quickly start training the animals for the competitions.
“At the moment in FFA I currently have two lambs right now, and their names are Lane and Tuff,” junior Katy Mixa said.
In FFA students can raise a lot of animals all at the same time. Like chicken, rabbits, hogs, lambs, goats, broilers, turkeys and cattle.
“I currently do not have an animal at the moment but I will be getting my 3rd set of pigs soon, definitely two pigs by maybe three if im lucky,” Honea said.
FFA is a very good club and activity to do after school if students have free time. Students also get to meet a lot of new students and teachers in FFA.
“Definitely the best part about being in FFA is definitely learning and seeing new things and meeting all the new people,” Mixa said.
In Montgomery County, fair season is at the end of March. So that means that all the members in FFA get to prepare the animals for eight months.
“Once I get my pigs I will be walking them everyday, but I know I will do good because I have with all my pigs before,” Honea said.
