Every rom-com has a meet cute and this one was in a coffee shop. Some of the best rom-coms have the plot of meeting and years later they end up together. “Anyone But You” had heartfelt moments along with irresistible laughing moments, the writers did great with the turning this into a more modern day love story. There were some cringe worthy scenes from the lingo they used, but it wasn’t unbearable.
Many movie goers will recognize Bea (Sydney Sweeney) from her role on the HBO series “Euphoria” As Cassie Howard she was a much hated character for her immature, backstabbing, man obsessive actions. But in “Anyone But You,” Sweeney plays a lovable, sweet, smart character that audience members will love to love.
After Bea’s initial introduction to Ben (Glen Powell), their relationship is filled with more hate than love for the majority of the movie. It made the audience feel like they weren’t made for each other by the way they acted towards each other. The writers did a great job on turning that passion of hatred into love. This is a great movie to enjoy with your friends or significant other on Valentine’s Day.
