Watchers beware, you’re in for a scare. Beetlejuice has come back, with new and improved details. With the release of Beetlejuice (2024), fans are still wondering if it has the same connection as the one made in 1988. Well for anyone who watched Beetlejuice (1988) don’t worry. Both are still the same and alike in many ways, one being that the actors (or at least a majority of them ) are still the same actors from the previous one. Many assume it’s just the next part for Beetlejuice, but in reality, it is more than just the remake of it the first movie.

The movie begins with its opening to Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder), a talk show host who reveals that she can see ghosts and ghouls. While she is talking, she sees Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton) amongst the crowd and gets so scared that she can’t continue. Her lover/manager Rory (Justin Theroux), follows her to the restroom to ask what’s wrong. This is where we find out that Lydia is taking medication for her issues. Viers then meet Astrid Deetz  (Jenna Ortega) and that is when the movie heads to the old neighborhood and Beetlejuice is back with his old tricks.

Overall, the movie was all okay. Personally, I disliked everything in the movie except Beetlejuice. He was the funniest character in the movie. The plot was unseasoned and did not feature a lot of laughs. It was released a little too late away from the original, as anyone who enjoyed the original either is gone or has not watched it yet.
