Everyone’s favorite symbiote returns to the screen for one last dance. Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and his symbiotic friend Venom (Also Tom Hardy because why not) are a relentless duo, often finding themselves in trouble or helping the people of San Francisco from imminent danger. The movie is the last one to come out in the series of three, which is sad because it was confirmed by the director that there are no more plans for another one to come out.
The movie starts with our favorite characters getting drunk in a bar located somewhere in Mexico. After all, the film is supposed to take a couple of days after their battle with Carnage (Woody Harrelson). However, recently in Chicago, news has risen that Patrick Mulligan has died and that Eddie was the person who did it. In a desperate yet humorous attempt to clear his name, the duo returns home to try to clear their name. However, they quickly find out that not everything is what it seems when an elite military squad is chasing them just to lock them up in Area 51. On top of that, they also realize that they are the key to realizing an ancient evil on Earth. So not only are demons from space trying to kill them, but also an elite military squad as well. However, the humor begins while they are a van of hippies trying to keep themselves under control (Imagine talking to yourself in front of a bunch of hippies. The weirdness just got weirder). After the fun car ride is over, the real stuff begins. The explosions, the monologue, the back story, the lore, and most importantly the tears.
I enjoyed the movie. I thought that it was a great way to end the franchise. I laughed a lot, I also cried at the end because it was such an amazing film. However, I would also suggest not bringing your children to it, since there are a lot of swear words in it and some moments of violence.
