Movies are many people’s favorite holiday tradition and are a great way to spark the holiday spirit.
The Grinch’s change in character brings people joy and a heartwarming feeling. Regardless of the version of the movie, it is a favorite for the holidays.
“My favorite Christmas movie is ‘The Grinch’ because the part where he brings the presents back makes me happy,” junior Ali Puls said.
“Elf” is movie is a humorous Christmas movie that many people favor. The ridiculous adventures of Buddy in New York City is a great way to find Christmas spirit.
“The ‘Elf’ movie is heartwarming, hilarious, and gets me in the Christmas spirit,” junior Courtney Pelton said. “My favorite part is when he was too big for the elf shop.”
The movie is even a favorite for people who don’t watch movies often.
“I don’t watch movies often,” senior Hannah Chaffin said. “But Christmas is my favorite holiday, and I enjoy watching ‘Elf.’”
Favorite Christmas movies can also have some loving memories attached to them. The nostalgia of sitting as a family and watching the same movie every year is something special.
“My favorite is ‘Home Alone’ because I watched it with my family growing up,” senior Maddi Smith said.
Lots of Christmas movies are popular because of the funny scenes they contain. Kevin McAlister battling his enemies while home alone is funny every time someone watches the movie.
“I like watching ‘Home Alone’ movie because it is funny when he tricks the robbers,” sophomore Bailey Scogins said.
“The Polar Express” has been a favorite of many people for years. Starting young, children love the magic in the movie.
“My favorite movie for the Christmas holiday is ‘The Polar Express’ because I enjoy seeing the little girl and her journey in the film,” senior Heavin Bell said. “My favorite scene is the hot chocolate dancing part.”
Having good actors is the key to making an enjoyable movie for watchers. Time and time again ‘Elf’ is on the favorite movie list because of the hilarious performance of the title character.
“I like the movie Elf,” freshman Annemarie Carman said. “This movie is my dad’s favorite, so we watch it yearly. I think so many people favor this movie because of Will Ferrell. He is a good actor and is good at making his part funny.”
