Ladies and gentlemen, ready your swords and get ready to attack! Gladiator two makes its debut during the Christmas season in theaters near you! After the release of gladiator one, many fans were dying to see what would happen in the second one of the series. And for those who were just dying to see it, don’t worry, you will not be disappointed.
The movie starts out just like the previous Gladiator film. The two emperor brothers of Rome, Geta and Caracalla(Joseph Quinn and Fred Hechinger) order the general Acacius (Pedro Pascal) to conquer the African kingdom of Numidia. When the Roman army gets there, we meet the
ferociously young general Lucius (Paul Mescal) and the preparations for the African army. During the fighting, Lucious is knocked off balance and is plunged into the water where he does not wake up until after the Roman army has conquered the kingdom. Much like Gladiator one, no one knows who he is, and is then taken to be a fighter in the coliseum, where he quickly garners attention and finds out who he really is. The movie ends with Lucius and the trusted advisor of the two emperors Macrinus (Denzel Washington) fighting in a river for the title of emperor. Their fight ends with Lucius cutting Macrinus hand off and slashing him across the chest. He then gives a speech to the two armies, one belonging to Rome, and the other belonging to his father. He tells them how Rome should be rebuilt, just the way his father, Maximus Decimus Meridius would have wanted it.
This movie was too good to be true in my opinion. Every scene was just amazing and there was no disappointment at all. Every time there is nothing, there will always be something. Not to mention the story behind it and how accurate it was to the real Roman empire.
