Roses are red. Violets are blue. Spanish NHS is selling roses for you.
It is not too late to grab a treat for your Valentine at lunch this week. Starting on Feb. 3, the Spanish National Honor Society started selling flowers and chocolate during all three lunches in both the CTE and Main building.
“Spanish NHS members will sell roses during lunches until February 13th, 2025,” Spanish National Honor Society Sponsor Thisia Sayers said. “Delivery will be on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, 2025. Spanish NHS members will deliver the roses to the lucky recipients. For $3 you can send a rose and card or for $5 you can send a rose, card, and chocolate to any student or staff at WHS. For more information, contact Mrs. Sayers in room A122.”
Many members have signed up to sell the roses during lunch, and deliver them to those receiving.
“With this fundraiser, I have seen so many people connect and bond,” senior Cristal Perez said. “I also see so many people receive flowers, chocolates, cards, and their faces glow with a smile. By making other people happy it makes me happy!”
From the buying process to the delivery, those participating in this are excited to see the valentine love spread.
“It’s nice to be able to sell the roses,” junior Joshua Miller said. “We set everything up in the cafeteria and just help people wanting to get something for their special someone.”
The fundraiser overall is working to save up money for the upcoming field trip, and for next year’s expenses.
“I find this fundraiser raising spirits while helping the club,” Perez said. “We’re making a positive impact and growing positivity because of this fundraiser.”
