The ballroom. The lead pipe. Peacock, Mustard, Plum. All of it leading up to the mystery that has shocked the partygoers. All of it leading up to a night that nobody will forget.
On Thursday, October 23rd, “Clue” will finally open for the public to see. After nearly two months of hard work, the theatre department is ready to unveil their latest play, full of mystery and plenty of humor.
“’Clue’ is a dramatic comedy that intertwines both aspects of funny bits with over the top storytelling,” sophomore and stage manager Austin Montalbano said. “The cast of seemingly “un-american Americans” gives the play a wonderful aspect of the setting the story takes place in, especially the early 1900s time period through references of communists and McCarthyism. So whether you’re a lover of history, drama, laughs, or simply crazy good storytelling, I’d say that Clue is the play for you.”
The lead up to the show has had its bumps along the way, as all productions do.
“The hardest part of this year’s show has been our comedic timing,” junior Olivia Calvello said. “We haven’t done a comedy like Clue before, so we just have to make sure all the jokes land right.”
Despite these problems, the show has a strong heart at its center, and the cast has been excited to bring Clue to life.
“My favorite part about the production is my cast mates,” sophomore Annemarie Carman said. “They create such a safe space for everyone, so we all feel like we belong here.”
The show is guaranteed to be a lovely time, and the theatre department would love to have a full auditorium.
“I think Clue is gonna be a great success,” sophomore Genevieve Nappier said. “We’ve put so much time and effort into this, I know everyone is gonna love seeing it come together.”
