The Willis boys basketball season is coming to an end, and it’s a bittersweet feeling for the freshman team. It’s been proven that a good coach can impact the opinion of the players.

“It’s very sad because I’m going to miss Coach Carter,” freshman Julian Pelayo said. “ “He made the game fun and more enjoyable.” 

They played their last game on the road against Porter. 

“If we win we will have the best record in Willis High School history,” Pelayo said.

Some people have strong bonds that they don’t want to lose after the basketball season comes to an end.

“I don’t want the season to end because some people won’t make the team next year and I won’t be able to see them anymore,” freshman Adrian Pahudpod said.

The boys are already getting ready mentally for the next season.

“We get to work harder and get prepared to move onto varsity basketball,” Pahudpod said.

All the players would agree that their coach was the greatest of all time.

“We won’t be able to ever play for Coach Carter anymore,” freshman Diego Rice said. “He will always be the GOAT.”
