Wildkat football officially starts the season tonight in Tomball at 7 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance. General admission tickets sales open up at 3 p.m.

After the scrimmage on Friday, September 18th, the team has high hopes. The team knows football is not only about winning the games. It is the physical aspects that makes it interesting and what they will work on to get ready for the season.

“This is the only sport where I can physically out do another man and assert dominance over someone every play of the game,” junior Jadarius Brown said.

The team leaders are going to push the other players to be the best they can be.

“Going into my second year of being captain, I feel like there is even more on me than last year,” senior captain Steele Bardwell said. “This year I am going to push myself and everyone around me to produce the best product we possibly can.”

Seeing the little things another team does can help you figure out their next move and prevent them from doing it. Players know they need to work on things before district begins.

“I believe we need to work on our attention to detail in every situation, no matter if we are on or off the field,” senior Elijah Hubbard said.

Expectations are high for the players this season. A new 6-A district will offer some great opportunities.

“We are looking to be a top team in our district and compete for the district championship,” senior Zane Nelson said.

Although the scrimmage was a loss, the Wildkats feel they did great things.

“Overall I think the scrimmage went really well,” senior Josh Thomas said. “We played really well as a team, we have good chemistry, but we still need to prepare for other teams that are better.”
