PRE RALLY. Before See at the Pole, area youth groups are meeting in the PAC tonight.

Standing in the crowd watching the singers on stage fully surrendering their hearts to worship God. Feeling the presence of the Holy Spirit. Vibing to the worship, touching every heart, drawing others closer to Christ.

Tonight at 6:30 p.m., five different churches from the area canceled their youth groups to gather at the school to show their support for the school’s club Fellowship of Christian Athletes, otherwise known as FCA.

Students and faculty both share how they look forward to the blessing other churches have granted to this school.

“I think this is awesome,” Coach George Lee said. “It is a testament to how our community has the potential to rally together behind positive events that impact all of us. The commitment that these churches, pastors, and leaders have made to cancel their youth services, shows the importance of ‘Unity’ in the Community, and embraces our District’s philosophy of ‘One Team, One Purpose.’”

Coach Lee shares how the Lord has worked within the club, stating how not only himself from faculty support the operation, but others as well have become involved within the school.

“I’m super excited that we have leaders all the way from Dr. Harkrider to our campus leaders such as Principal Smith, and directors Mr. Glenn and Labonski who have given their approval and support to FCA’s mission and values,” he said. “To see that manifest from last year’s 1st Fields of Faith, to now creating events and opportunities as this throughout our calendar year is awesome.”

After seeing the wonderful values that FCA has, Coach Lee couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be a sponsor. He is dedicated to support the younger generation that longs to make the world a better place.

“Once I saw the core values and overall mission of the company I couldn’t say no,” he said. “The opportunity to mentor kids, impact lives, and support young people who are bold regarding their beliefs is so inspiring. It was an alignment and opportunity that just fit perfectly. We have set out this year to equip, engage, and expand our leadership team throughout this building to more than just athletes, and partnered with many of our local ministries to help us.”

Student leaders from the club also share their excitement and anticipation for the upcoming event.

I am very excited to be back and to see what the Lord has in store for me as well as everyone involved with FCA,” senior Weston Holcomb said. “ I am a leader with the hope to inspire and help others grow their faith and confidence. I think all the opportunities that are being opened this year through FCA are amazing and will definitely touch many people’s lives and help connect or reconnect them to Christ.”
