Black Adam (2022)  PG-13

“The world doesn’t always need a white knight. Sometimes it needs something darker.” – Doctor Fate

The movie that extends the DC Universe hit the theaters with a BANG! Released in October of 2022 was the creation of cinematic brilliance and accomplishment, ‘Black Adam’. Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, produced by Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, and Beau Flynn, and screenplay projected by Jaume Collet-Serra, Sohrab Noshirvani, Adam Sztykiel, and Rory Haines.

Starring Black Adam (Dwayne Johnson) who is awoken from his prison and released into the modern world to free the people of Kahndaq. He is accompanied by the believers in freedom and liberation Amon (Bodhi Sabongui) and Isis (Sarah Shahi) to liberate the citizens from foreign invaders. However, he is targeted by the Justice Society and its members known as Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan), Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), and Hawkman (Aldis Hodge). His powers are built from rage, a heart seeking vengeance and the true strength of will to save the people with something far greater than a hero.

This is a story that exposes the truth behind a hero’s mask, showing how good and evil is only distinguishable when it is coming from the person who draws the line. A hero isn’t always necessary to save people, sometimes darkness and freedom is what will be their salvation. This film was beautifully created to show the hidden truth’s society downgrades, the dark truth to what this world is missing, and the importance of control over one’s own emotions. To respond with their own confidence, not to react by the instigating words of someone else.
