School spirit is huge to the school. PitKru is ready to show off their Wildkat spirit once again this year. Join these students as they go wild for the Kats.
These Wildkats are ready to join PitKru for another fun time cheering and making new friends on the sidelines showing off their school spirit.
“Yes, I will be doing PitKru again this year because it is such a good environment to be around,” junior Shy-Ane Colon said. “All the people who are a part of PitKru are so kind and welcoming. PitKru is also a great way for us to cheer and support our team, and I really enjoy it.”
Finding new ways to be involved in the school and show off pride in the school can be hard, but with PitKru anyone and everyone is welcome as long as getting spirited is not an issue.
“PitKru is a cool way for kids to express their support and pride in our school, in literally the loudest way possible,” sponsor Chris Slovak said. “We have a great time down on the field level during home football games and build relationships along the way. Any sophomore, junior, or senior can join just by coming by A123 and picking up a contract.”
Getting to be down on the sidelines helping cheer the Wildkats on is fun for everyone who joins PitKru . The memories don’t just stop there, they build and grow all throughout the football season.
“One of my favorite memories from PitKru was the first playoff game of the season,” junior Niya McGowen said. “It was the first playoff game of the season, and it was on a Saturday. It was raining, misty and cold outside but the adrenaline in my body pushed me to keep going and cheering on our team on to the win.”
Being new to PitKru doesn’t mean that the memories haven’t already started. After a successful run last year and all the memories shared and created, new students cannot wait to start cheering on the team together.
“I’m looking forward to making new friends,” junior Kimberly Gonzalez said. “I wanna get more involved in groups after school and do more activities before I graduate.”
PitKru is going to be an ongoing tradition for the years to come.
“PitKru represents us bringing the culture to football,” senior Nadia Jenkins said. “Involving our students in a community based thing, helps to bring students out. It has the opportunity to help them indulge in the culture of our school all while getting involved.”
