Every football game the school has these themes of what to dress up as, this can bring the spirit up, These themes can get the students even more excited to show up and support the football team and during school hours, and it looks cool to see everyone be color/ theme coordinated.
Being involved in football games isn’t always an option for everyone but there are other ways to be involved
“Not many people have the opportunity to go to games and yell for the Kats,” sophomore Bryan Negrete said. “Some other ways you could show support or school spirit are by wearing purple or participating in spirit weeks.”
The themes give Willis students something to be interested in and give people the opportunity to come together to support our school in a fun way.
“I’m most excited to dress up for the USA day,” junior Addison Murray said. “I always find it fun to see what people come up with, like bringing flags, and showing up in the best USA gear. The energy is also out of this world, people show up for America and for Willis!”
The dress up days allow students to have an outlet for their creativity while also learning and showing school spirit.
“Dress up days give people creative liberty to show their school spirit,” junior Jocelyn Leon said. “They could be subtle or they could go all out. It gets people going and in a high spirited mood for the games!”
These clothes can be a way to show encouragement and support for being a Willis student.
“Another way to show school spirit is to wear the clothes on dress up days,” Junior Brayden Bowers said. “That is the point of the dress up days as it shows everyone you are proud to go to Willis and are maybe going to the game.”
Dress up days can bring joy to somebody’s day and make them enjoy going to school more. Dressing up for the themes can benefit their mental state and bring more involvement to students.
“I am so excited for the dress up themes,” sophomore Taylor Walker said. “They always lift the mood, the happiness is contagious. Also the student section handing out props for the theme. I don’t remember that happening at any games.”
