Competitive. Hardworking. Exciting.
The volleyball program focuses on so many girls’ futures and pushes them to their limit. The team has made history this season, adn they are working hard to earn a trip to the play-offs.
Having a successful program needs to consist of things like a player’s development, team culture and community engagement.
“Player development is like mental shifts in work ethic and discipline,” sophomore Kennadie Gibson said. “The community engagement has contributed to the team’s success drastically, and the team’s culture has improved from other years.”
Coach Kayla jenkins wants her players to support they community that shows up to support them.
“We will always support our community,” Jenkins said.“No matter what, we have an expectation to be nice to each other in this program.”
The program has huge victories, some even make history. This team beat The Woodlands for the first time in the school’s history.
“I feel surprised but also proud because we deserved it, and we’re willing to change for the better.” senior Tori Greeney said.
Making history does not only consist of some victories, this program might just be in the position to make the playoffs for the first time in years.
“I do believe the volleyball program has a chance of making the playoffs,” senior Rylee Forester said. “The work ethic brought from each individual this season has made an impact on this program which is being shown on the court.”
The meaning of this program to the school is being an inspiration and an example to students who are lacking in their work ethic and how they’re treating people. This program’s meaning to the school can also include team based competitiveness that unites the program which amplifies the energy in the school.
“The volleyball program isn’t just a hobby at our school; it is a catalyst for growth, inspiring students to excel both on and off the court,” senior Avery Wood said.
