The NFL is full of superstars who have ties to a university. Whether that be Justin Jefferson from LSU, or Patrick Mahomes from Texas Tech, everyone’s favorite NFL team has players derived from different universities. More Wildkats excited about college football than the NFL.
Let’s look at it from two different perspectives; the NFL. Football is the most popular sport in America hands down, and the NFL has the greatest players from around the world all competing in one league to see who the best is.
College football is where everything comes together. A lot of people who go to college fall in love with that college football team. Eventually those same people get married and have kids and then the kids fall in love with that team too. This is a repeated cycle and that’s how most of the fanbase is made. Instead of loving the raw talent that’s in the NFL, people fall in love with their team.
In the NFL there are a bunch of superstars that have cemented their names into football history. Most superstars were picked in the first or second round because of amazing college careers. But there are a select few who’s drafted in the later rounds that end up being great. Tom Brady for example; Most people see him as the greatest of all time but he was a late round pick and didn’t have an outstanding college career.
That’s why people love the NFL, because of the talent that is found from the overlooked players in college.
College and the NFL are under the same umbrella when it comes to fanbase. A lot of people like both but people are ready for college football than the NFL. Maybe it is the long-lived rivalries or loyal fans that fuel college football’s frenzy, Saturday has been and will always be for the boys (and girls).
