So March Madness just ended and honestly it was a really good tournament this year. Michigan won the whole thing which is kind of a big deal because they hadn’t won a national championship since way back in 1989 which was like forever ago.
The Michigan Wolverines beat the UConn Huskies 69-63 in the championship game on April 6th at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. It was a close game and UConn almost came back but Michigan was just better. The star of the game was a guy named Elliott Cadeau. He led Michigan with 19 points and really helped the Wolverines pull away by making free throws at the end, with Michigan hitting 25 out of 28 attempts from the line. That’s actually a really good free throw percentage if you think about it.
One of the most interesting things about this tournament was how Michigan even got this good. The team was actually built through the transfer portal, which is something that has become really common in college sports lately. A lot of people have opinions about the transfer portal but clearly it worked for Michigan’s coach.
UConn actually had one of the most dramatic moments of the whole tournament when guard Braylon Mullins hit a 35-foot buzzer-beater three-pointer to send them to the Final Four. People literally were screaming when that happened.

Michigan’s win also gave the Big Ten conference its first national championship since the year 2000. That is a long time for a conference with so many good teams in it.
Overall this was a really fun March Madness and I think Michigan deserved to win. Hopefully next year the team I pick will actually win. In conclusion, college basketball is exciting well see next year who will be champions.
