At only 16 years old, Styles auditioned for X Factor UK and advanced to the next round with the unanimous vote. Producer Simon Cowell decided that a band needed to be formed between five boys auditioning: Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles. And thus, One Direction was born and birthed the successful career of Styles.

Harry Styles is one of the most profound and influential artists of this day and age.

One Direction has five albums that all reached the number-one spot on Billboard’s Top 100, becoming the first band to have five consecutive #1 albums. After the band split in August of 2015 to take an 18 month hiatus, that has now reached five years, each member started their solo career. Using his experience in music writing, producing and performing, Styles debuted his first solo album in May 2017, which won a BRIT award and an ARIA award. He went on a two-part tour until 2018 and immediately went to write his second album, Fine Line, in October 2019, which has not yet been nominated for any awards and starts Love On Tour in February 2021. His music career has set him apart from other artists because he has succeeded in a group and as a solo artist.

Styles has also made his way into different industries. In 2016, he starred in the war-drama movie Dunkirk as Alex, a British soldier. In 2019, the fanfiction novel, “After”, by fan Anna Todd, came to the big screen. Although Styles did not star in the movie, he was the inspiration for the main character Hardin Scott, the “bad boy.” Announced just last month, Styles will star in “Don’t Worry Darling”, an Olivia Wilde film where he will replace the role of Shia Labeouf. Marvel also just revealed that Styles will also star in their new movie, “The Eternals,” where he will play the charming brother of Thanos who lures people in with his devilish charm and dazzling smile, which many fans think suits Styles perfectly.

Starting at just 16, Harry Styles immediately captured the attention of young teens. With his motto, “Treat People With Kindness,” he has been an influential part in many of his fans’ lives, ranging from responding to DMs to surprising fans in the hospital. Now with the launch of two new starring roles in big screen movies and the rumors of a third album, the world watches in awe as the now 28 year old continues to steal the hearts of teens and young adults across the globe.
