WHAT A WEEKEND. During week seven, six undefeated teams faced each other in an exciting weekend for college football fans to watch

As the game winning field goal goes through the uprights, the infamous conference rivalry comes to a close and the fans empty the stands. One team remains undefeated, and the other is weighed with the loss. This past weekend, this was the fulfilling end to Tennessee’s game against Alabama.

During week seven, six undefeated teams faced each other in an exciting weekend for college football fans to watch. Whether it was Penn State and Michigan, Alabama and Tennessee, or Oklahoma St. and TCU, there was something for everyone to view; however, Tennessee was the team everyone had their focus on.

With Alabama having 17 penalties, a school record, the Alabama-Tennessee game made fans of the Crimson Tide question the legitimacy of the game; however, ball don’t lie. Hendon Hooker set up the game winning kick by driving the Vols down the field in 13 seconds solidifying the most points scored against Alabama in 100 years. Tennessee was finally able to cease the 15 year torment brought upon by the Saban administration.

The record breaking game in Knoxville wasn’t the only entertainment as over the next night, the city of Knoxville went crazy. The Volunteer’s tore down their own goal post where the winning kick went through and marched it down to the Tennessee river where they threw it in. After getting hit with a $100,000 fine by the SEC for not ensuring proper field management. Tennessee president, Randy Boyd quoted saying “It doesn’t matter, we’re gonna do this every year.” The school raised funds in order to replace the missing goal post in order to play the game next week. Knoxville was the place to be after the game as celebrations lasted weekend long.
