Scary movies perfect for after spooky season too

Scary+movies+perfect+for+after+spooky+season+too

As the calendar changes from October to November, the spooky season is officially ending. Trick-or-treating and pumpkin carving may be over, but the time for spooky movies can be beyond what is known as spooky season.

Relating to this, some movies deserve recognition for being the best scary movie, such as the Nightmare Before Christmas.

“It was so weird because the movie animation wasn’t anything I ever watched,” junior Charles Ibukun said. “It was dolls moving but with some pictures. I would rate this movie a nice 8/10. This was my first and only horror movie I watched and it was fun and different experience that it would of have been if it was a Christmas movie”

But other people enjoy scary movies for the bloody and gruesome factors of it.

“The best and scariest movie I ever watched was Terrifier 2. It was very gruesome and showed a really dark side of Halloween”, sophomore Natalia Herrera said. “It also made me feel sad about these situations that happen in the real world. It made me cry to mom and sleep with her.”

The acting in general also helped the overall effect of the scary-ness of the movie, making it the best.

“The scariest movie I’ve ever seen was Ready or Not. I really liked the concept of taking children’s games and making them scary,” junior Ella McDonald said. “Samara Weaving really did a great job with the role and she made it so much more dark.”

The overall hype of movies sometimes doesn’t meet the public’s expectations though. Relating to people saying it’s spooky and gives you a scare, does not affect others.

“I didn’t like Smile because it wasn’t even scary,” sophomore Rachel Stephenson said. “There was just jump-scares and I didn’t even like the ending about what happened to Rose.”
