WILDKATS GOING PLACES. Admiring the wall of seniors who have been accepted to colleges, senior Bradley Lottinger enjoys his iced coffee.

Students piling up waiting for the famous senior iced coffee’s from the college career room. Counselors trying to rally up all of them for a smooth process with their iced coffees in the hall. Wildkats making future plans

There are just a few requirements to be able to get this famous iced coffee from Mrs.Neumann’s room. Students have earned a free coffee by showing proof of successful planning.

“I created my FAFSA ID because I haven’t applied for a college yet,” senior Jackie Diaz said.

This event is very special to all of the seniors this year. Because they are starting to wrap up the first semester.

“To earn my iced coffee I got accepted into Texas State University,” senior Stone Chapman said. ‘I also showed that I wasn’t failing any of my classes. I think events like this are important to make steps for your education.”

Every year the counselors spend their time with the seniors to get everything organized and ready for the life after high school.

“To earn my iced coffee I discussed future plans involving college and the path that I wanted to follow,” senior Cheyanne Friedrichsen said.

Every year lots of seniors attend the iced coffee event.

“I think we had around 200 who attended we had about 180 that signed in,” college and career counselor Tricia Neumann said. “I think we missed a few on the sign-ins, and then some came by today that did not make it yesterday and were able to have some leftovers.”

Senior year is one of the most important years in your high school experience. Lots of them are finishing their credits and getting to spend time with their friends.

“We host this event because we like to celebrate our seniors and encourage them to make action on their new steps after high school,” Neumann said.

Every year the College and Career Center does this for the seniors, and they hope to grow this more every year.

“This was our highest attended iced coffee event to date, and the College Career Center was busy today with new visitors working on their next steps,” Neumann said.
