The venue was much longer and the lights were much brighter, but the goal was the same for the Wildkats as they ran on the field and faced the Forney Jackrabbits at the Star in Arlington last Saturday night. The team didn’t just play football, they made history with their 38-32 win. For the first time in the school’s history, the team is headed to the fourth round.
The Wildkats will face the Desoto Eagles at 3 p.m. on December 6th at McLane Stadium at Baylor University in Waco.
The opening kickoff showed the Wildkats came prepared and ready to prove themselves. Energy was electric inside the full stadium stands as fans prepared to cheer their team on in purple and white. It was one of the most unforgettable moments of this season.
Forney came into the game with a lot of confidence, but Willis quickly showed that they weren’t intimidated. The Wildkats offense moved the ball with determination, as the defense stood strong against Forney trying to break through. That was the game-changing moment, thanks to the huge touchdown scored by Willis. That ignited the crowd and gave the team an aggressive momentum into which they never looked back.
Every play counted: the defense made stops and the offense just kept pounding away while the players gave it their all on the field. The student section was the loudest it had ever been, with chants reverberating through the stadium. The parents, teachers, alumni, and even younger fans all joined together, creating a wall of support that helped carry this team through the night.
When the final whistle blew, the scoreboard simply confirmed what everybody else knew: Willis defeated Forney. The win was more than about numbers, though. It was about pride, resilience, and the spirit of the Wildkats. Seniors left a mark, one that will be remembered in the years to come, while juniors and underclassmen took a memory with them that could serve as motivation well into the future.
Senior Jermaine Bishop Jr. had 15 receptions for 328, three receiving touchdowns, and one rushing touchdown. Javion Martin as well had a receiving touchdown and 81 yards. Lastly the commander of the offense, Lincoln Fraizer had 481 yards and four touchdowns. This led Willis to beat Forney but this wasn’t just any other victory; it became the definition of their team. It mirrored a team built upon heart, determination, and togetherness.
