From now until the end of the school year, seniors’ schedules are loaded with various activities and duties that they will attend to and take care of.
Prom is being held at the Woodlands Resort from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. on May 3rd.
“I am excited for prom,” senior Taylor Turner said. “It will be a great memory where you can hang out with your friends, dance, spend the last moments with the people you surround yourself with you met, and enjoy the time. It is emotional in a way because it is one of the last times to spend with your friends before going separate ways in life.”
Graduation practice will be at Sam Houston State University on May 20th.
“Graduation practice is to help get seniors prepared for graduation and to sort out any confusion we might have,” senior Audrey Van Straten said. “The practice helps build uniformity, and you can see who is placed where.”
Senior Award Night is for honor grade students, scholarship recipients, and military enlistments, and it will be held in the PAC at 6:30 p.m. on May 20th.
“Senior Award Night is an awards ceremony for many groups of students, but I was requested to go for a scholarship to help pay for my college,” senior Joselyn Lira said.
Senior breakfast is on May 22nd, and there will be ticket pickup and a yard sign photo op.
“Senior breakfast is an opportunity to spend the last moments you have with friends,” senior Fernanda Ruiz said. “You get to have breakfast together before you all take the stage at graduation.”
May 23rd is when seniors will do their elementary school walks in the school where they grew up.
“I am doing my senior elementary school walk at Parmley,” senior Lanie Elkins said. “It gives me joy that I can inspire the younger generation to look forward to graduating from high school to start their lives.”
Graduation will take place on May 24th at Sam Houston State University at 3:30 p.m..
“I am happy to graduate and start my life journey,” senior Taliyah Taylor said. “I plan to go to college to become a therapist, but I am a little nervous to be on my own.”
