This Friday, the lights at the Planet Ford Stadium in Spring will shine a little brighter as our Willis Wildkats step onto the field chasing a goal they’ve worked towards since the first whistle of August: proving they belong in the post-season spotlight.
Friday’s game doesn’t just mark another matchup. It represents a chance for the Wildats to show how far they’ve come this season.
“All week we’ve been locked in,” junior Carter Isom said. “This is the moment we’ve been working toward since summer workouts, and we’re ready to show what Willis football is about. We’re ready to bring the fight.”
Throughout the season, Willis has built momentum through explosive offense and defense that has tightened week after week. Coaches say the teams growth has been less about individual talent and more about chemistry, something that becomes even more important under pressures of playoffs.
The atmosphere is expected to be like no other at Planet Ford Stadium, with students, parents and the Willis community planning to pack the stands in full purple pride. For many players, this game isn’t just about advancing, it’s a chance to represent the town that raised them. For the seniors this could be our last time stepping on the field, that makes it personal.
“We’re not going out without a fight,” senior Tyler Andrade said.
