The football team is advancing to the second round of playoffs tonight at Randall Reed Stadium. This is the year year the Wildkats have made it past the first round of the UIL championship brackets.
Playing a strong game is the key to the next championship title.
“Our expectations as coaches is for the players to go out there and give our absolute best for ourselves, our brothers, our school and our community,” Coach Trent Miller said.
The football team is set up to achieve their goal if they accomplish their tasks.
“The boys are locked in and we feel really solid about our game plan,” Miller said. “As long as we do what we are supposed to do, protect the football and create big stops, I feel like we will come out on top.”
Players are ready to take on Tomball under the Friday Night Lights.
“We are spending time watching film on Tomball and learning new plays,” senior Carson Knobloch said. “I am excited for Friday, but I am sad my senior year is wrapping up.”
The players have confidence in their skills to succeed and go to round three.
“We are heading into round two with a mindset to win the game, but we will be set to advance to round 3,” senior Tyler Andrade said.
Cheerleaders are extra excited to help push the team through round two.
“I hope the team can lead the school to another championship,” senior Alexis Graham said.
The community is ready and excited to watch the boys play their hearts out for the second round.
“I am hyped up for the playoffs,” junior Wesley Burns said. “It has been a really great year, and I am proud of the football team and band, but I am sappy about my junior year ending and heading onto the next chapters.”
This is the second year in a row that the school has faced Tomball in playoffs.
“I am pretty excited to play Tomball two years in a row, and hopefully we can come out with a win,” senior Eli Bracken said.
