Move over Valentine’s Day, here comes Galentine’s Day

Move+over+Valentines+Day%2C+here+comes+Galentines+Day

As Valentine’s Day starts to creep around the corner on Feb. 14, some people might not have a valentine. But who would be better to spend the day than with friends? For ideas for this year’s Galentine’s Day, some things to do are have a sleepover, go out or make your friends a Valentine’s Day basket.

A slumber party, an event that every girl loves that is packed with so many activities to do. Baking something with a group to snack such as heart-shaped cookies and cake pops, while watching a movie is two activities in one. For example, rom-coms and drama movies are commonly loved among everyone. Something else to do during the Galentine’s sleepover is having a game night as well such as never have I ever, and truth or dare. Playing these will allow the bonds between friends to improve, but also leads to learning more things about each other.

Additionally, going out is something fun for everyone since one night can be filled with different places and activities to do. One of the most popular things to do is make pottery and paint it with the darkest reds to the lightest pinks. Being able to create heart shaped bowls and mugs is something memorable to keep and look back at. After, having a picnic filled with rose petals all around with candles is a beautiful way to end the night, surrounded by everyone you love the most.

In addition, If you aren’t able to see friends for a long period of time, making them a gift of appreciation is always enjoyable. Everything in stores is already filled with different valentine inspired things from stuffed animals to candy. First, you would need to pick out a basket and then gathering sweets would be the next thing such as boxes of chocolates and sweethearts. To top it off, a stuffed animal and extra add ons like hair clips, makeup or some flowers is something that everyone will love.

On the other hand, some people might argue that Galentine’s is a holiday that isn’t necessary to celebrate, but having a holiday just to show people you love them is appropriate to celebrate.

In conclusion, Galentine’s Day has so many different activities that can make people want to celebrate it more. Having ideas such as sleep overs, going out, and creating a Valentine’s Day basket for them. As a way to show love for someone, people should start using this holiday as a way to show appreciation for the people surrounding them every day.
