Senior night is about traditions. Moms and dads walking their senior down the track. Seniors locking arms as the walk the field on last time.
For the cheerleaders, having their dads cheer with them is a tradition they hold dear to their hearts.
“My favorite part about cheering with my dad on senior night was celebrating the special memory of the fact that I am no longer his little girl while goofing around, dancing and lots of laughter,” senior Maddie Mae Bratton said.
The dads got to feel how it was to be a varsity cheerleader for a day.
“My favorite part of getting to cheer with my dad was letting him experience what I loved to do throughout high school,” senior Kyndall Schiffner said.
Seeing the dads cheer and jump around can be amusing to those who have known them for a long time.
“I think it is important that we get to cheer with our dads to share the moments with the people who have supported us,” senior Courtney Pelton said. “It is a fun experience getting to see the dads have fun on the sidelines doing the thing we love to do
The dads enjoyed cheering with their daughters. They tries to keep up with the stunts and jumps with little success.
“The funniest part about senior night was seeing my step dad join us in the jump lines,” senior Janelle Geyer said.
The game started off with lots of laughter and fun as the dads were able to join their daughters for all of the pre-game joys.
“The best part of the night was the pre-game events,” senior Ali Puls said. “It was fun getting to be with our dads while they announced us, did run through, and for kick off as well.”
Senior traditions are even more special when celebrated with loved ones.
“Senior night is extra special when we get to cheer with our dads,” senior Alexis Graham said. “They have been with us through all of our ups and downs, so getting to share special moments with our dads is a moment we will never forget.”
