Two brothers accused of killing their own parents in a million dollar mansion in Beverly Hills one Sunday night. A case examined for more than 30 years sparks a new interest on the internet recently, making petitions to hopefully get them out of their no parole prison. Celebrities are raising awareness for the brothers to hopefully get their justice.
Many shows, documentaries, and books have been made about the Menendez brothers. Lots of theories have been made on how the brothers killed their parents. Some say the brothers immediately left the house after they killed their parents, others say the brothers stayed at the house until everything calmed down. No one really knows what happened that night. Only the brothers know.
“The Monsters: The Lye and Erik Menendez Story” goes through a series of events of the brothers preparing for the murder of their parents. From struggling to buy the guns to hiding the guns in the dirt on the side of the street and then going to watch a movie together after killing them.
The two main actors Cooper Koch and Nicholas Alexander Chavez who play Erik and Lyle Menendez really put all of their thought and emotion into these characters. Cooper really shows how suicidal Erik felt after killing his parents in their own home and Nicholas expresses how Lyle was feeling with the mental abuse he would get from their parents.
Most people think that the brothers killed their parents for the money. If so what would they even need that money for? Jose and Kitty Menendez Mary “Kitty” Menendez played a big part in why the brothers wanted to kill them. Jose only wanted the brothers to be the best of the best and he wouldn’t settle for nothing less. Kitty on the other hand was jealous that the brothers were getting all of her husband’s attention, she just wanted to be loved by her husband like she was before she gave birth to the brothers. This jealousy caused her to not care when the brothers told her that their father was sexually abusing them.
To this day the trails are still being watched and examined. Many people on the internet have brought awareness to these brothers and their case. Hoping to one day set them free and let them have their justice.
