Stranger Things isn’t just coming back; it’s a genuine event that has teens everywhere talking. The excitement is off the charts, with social media blowing up with theories, ’80s throwbacks, and countdowns. It really shows how much Gen Z loves the new season of Stranger Things.

Some students say it’s a really good show.

“I love the new season of Stranger Things because I grew up watching it,” junior Finley McDonald said. “The characters are great actors for such a difficult show to act out. Everything always adds up at the end, and it continues to get better and better. All of the effects make it seem real, and each character has their own part that makes the plot better.”

The return to Hawkins has been particularly impactful for younger demographics who grew up with the show and its hooked with the aesthetic into their daily online lives. The online hype is crazy all over the internet.

“My entire for you page on TikTok is just theories about the finale and people cosplaying as Eddie Munson or debating if Steve and Nancy should end up together,” sophomore David Olivo said. “It’s everywhere, you can’t scroll without getting sucked into the Hawkins universe all over again.”

Across social media, other fans have shown mixed feelings towards the new season, with some questioning its storyline and character development

“I really disliked the new season; it just didn’t land for me,”  sophomore Francisco Rodriguez said. “The plot felt unfocused, the character development seemed rushed. Overall, it failed to live up to the hype like everyone has tried to hyping it up.”

As debates swirl around the newest season of Stranger Things, some viewers are standing firmly on the side of praise.

“I honestly Love the season,” sophomore Sophia Ziegler. “The story felt bigger, the characters grew in ways I didn’t expect, and even though other fans have mixed feelings, I think it’s one of the best season they’ve ever made.”
