The 2026 Grammy Awards brought together the biggest names in music, celebrating achievements across pop, rap, Latin, and many other genres. With memorable performances, emotional speeches and unexpected wins, the awards show quickly became a major topic of discussion among students at school the following day.
Music has become a major part of students daily lives, making the Grammys feel more relevant than ever.
“Everyone listens to music differently now, but the Grammys bring it all together,” sophomore Jonathan Madrid said. “It’s one night where all genres are in the same spotlight.”
Pop music,and a strong reactions from students who enjoy catchy songs and high energy performances. Many pop artists impressed viewers with their performance stages and crowd favorite hits.
“The pop performances were my favorite part,” freshman Adelyn White said. “They were fun, and really entertaining. You could tell how much effort went into them.”

Transitioning from pop to rap, many students noted how hip hop artists used the Grammys to make powerful statements. Rap categories are mostly talked about lyricism, and cultural impact.
“Rap music always brings real messages to the stage,” said Dacyn Bishop, a Sophomore. “Some of the songs talk about struggle and making it out now seeing them at the Grammys makes it feel important.”
Even students who did not watch the show live stayed updated through social media. Clips of rap performances and speeches spread quickly on social medias like TikTok and Instagram.
“I didn’t watch the Grammys Awards, but my for you page was full of Grammy Award clips,” sophomore Alex Lira said. “It felt like everyone was talking about it.”
Latin music also stood out during the night, earning praise from students who appreciated seeing representation on a global stage. Latin artists brought a performances and celebrated their culture through music and language.
“I loved how Bad Bunny won many awards it was so emotional he supported the Latin community,” sophomore Jordin Rivera said “It shows that Spanish music has a huge influence, not just here but everywhere.”
As the awards came to a close, debates over winners quickly followed. Students discussed whether certain artists deserved their awards and if others were overlooked.
“Some people were definitely robbed,” sophomore Kimberly Solis said . “But everyone has different tastes, so that’s expected.”
