Writer: Connor Hines
Genre: Biographical drama and romantic tragedy
Unconditional love. Tragic love. In this docudrama anthology series we explore the lives of JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. Their intense, high profile 1990s romance, marriage and their untimely deaths.
In the seven episode docudrama we explore when JFK jr. (Paul Anthony Kelly) and Carolyn Bessette (Sarah Pidgeon) met, fell in love, met each other’s family, fought constantly, and eventually died. Throughout this series we meet other family members that played a key part in who JFK jr. was and how Carolyn Bessette came to be. Such as Jackie Kennedy Onassis (Naomi Watts), Caroline Kennedy (Grace Gummer), Calvin Klein (Alessandro Nivola) and Lauren Bessette (Sydney Lemmon).
Max Winkler, Gillian Robespierre, Crystle Roberson Dorsey and other creators and writers did a fantastic job at making viewers feel like they were living right next door to JFK jr and Carolyn Bessette. Making us not only understand the depth of the plot but making us feel we were living in 1990s Manhattan. Each of the actors did a remarkable job, making viewers weep, yell and fall in love again all at the same time.
“Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette” was a massive streaming hit becoming Fox’s most watched limited series ever on Hulu and Disney+ with over 25 million hours viewed in its first few weeks. And the growing audience has yet to stop, with episode 5 seeing a 51% increase compared to the premiere. The wardrobe enraptured many people to start wearing the iconic 90s aesthetic, I won’t be surprised if it charms you as well.
This show is so captivating you won’t want it to end. I highly recommend that you start watching this show. You’ll be so intrigued, irritated and in love all at the same time. The only thing you’ll be upset about is how quick it goes by.
